About Larsen's
a Main Street mainstay
Before Larsen’s Bicycles ever opened its doors in Worland, Buzz Larsen was running a shop in Powell. That’s where he met Lisa Weamer who, at the time, was selling radio ads. After one visit, Buzz looked at her and said, “You look miserable. You should come work for me instead.” He wasn’t kidding. For a year, she worked at Larsen’s in Powell. Lisa’s dad, who owned the Wea Plaza in Worland, gave them the idea to open another store. Lisa still teases him that he just wanted to get rid of her, but maybe not completely.
Larsen’s Bicycles opened in 1991 in Worland’s Wea Plaza, with a simple goal: to serve local riders with quality bikes and reliable service. Back then, the shop focused strictly on bikes—but as winters rolled in, the need for cross-country skis and snowshoes became clear. Today, those winter gear essentials are part of the seasonal rotation.
In 2007, Larsen’s moved to its current home on Big Horn Avenue—right on Worland’s main street. The shop quickly became a familiar stop for generations of riders and outdoor lovers across the Big Horn Basin.
Larsen’s has quietly supported a wide range of local causes over the years, from the New Hope Humane Society to Ten Sleep’s Nowood Trailbreakers, and countless events and fundraisers in between.
Larsen’s remains best known for what’s mattered all along: trust, reliability, and old-school customer service. Riders still come from hours away to buy their bikes here not just because of what’s in stock, but because of who’s behind the counter.
And yes, many of today’s loyal customers were once kids picking out their very first bike at Larsen’s.
